You have the choice of just about any tone imaginable. Standard tones, like warm, neutral, sepia, and selenium come at no extra cost. If you need a custom tone, the cost is 150 euros for calibrating.

The first print includes a 300 euro fee for calibration.

For color, this is what I choose 90% of the time. It’s perfect for portraits and landscapes that don’t have overly saturated colors. The extra iron oxide layer, which is close to a skin tone, creates extremely subtle prints that are extremely lightfast, with colors that don’t shift depending on where the print is viewed.

A standard CMYK print. Good for photos that have more saturated colors.

Probably the most lightfast color prints in existence. All pigments are naturally forming minerals. In my opinion, these are the most beautiful prints I make.

I have a standard CMYK+OGV profile, but if you have a specific color that you need to achieve, I can accommodate your needs. Special profiling can range from 1000€ to 4000€, depending on the complexity of the project.

This is the natural finish of a carbon print. The blacks have a slight gloss to them, which gives the print a bit more depth.

By adding a matting agent, or by using specific pigments, the gloss in the shadows of a print can be eliminated. This looks like a platinum print.

In a double transfer print, all relief and most gloss differential is eliminated. This looks like a silver print on pearl paper.

By adding more gelatin to a double transfer print, more gloss can be achieved.

If a double transfer print is not soaked after transferring the image from the plastic temporary support the print has a high gloss look, much like ferrotyping a silver gelatin print.

This is often my favorite finish, but it doesn’t work with all prints. By adding an extra gloss layer, the effect of glossy blacks that defines a carbon print is enhanced. How much gloss is determined by the exposure.

Price of a print is not affected by your choice of paper. If you have a specific paper you would like to work with, not listed below, let me know.

This is my go to paper for any of the matte finishes. It’s very smooth.

This paper is good if you are looking for a little bit more texture.

Smooth and soft, this Japanese paper gives an excellent finish for matte prints.

For luster, glossy, and super glossy, this paper is thick enough to not curl under the tension of the gelatin coats.

The carbon transfer process is very versatile, so I can print just about anything. I charge 30€ an hour for research, plus the cost of purchasing materials. I’ll give my best estimate to how long your project will take, and results are not guaranteed. Sometimes ideas work, sometimes they don’t.
Tell me about your project in the comments section below and I will let you know how we might proceed.
